In terms of rapidly prototyping a home designed for Mars, what better location than the Canadian Prairies in winter? Though it may be decades before we can live on Mars, there’s numerous technologies we should be testing now, for long-term durability.

It’s one thing to claim a home is winterized, but another thing entirely for that home to be livable and long-lasting. It’s probably a good strategy for early colonists to be able to survive without the reliance of a central power source, in the early days.
